Roaring Spring library sets Dec. activities | News, Sports, Jobs – Altoona Mirror

ROARING SPRING — The Roaring Spring Community Library has announced its activities for December.

The library is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The library will close at 4 p.m. Dec. 23 and Jan. 2. It will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26 and 31 and Jan. 1.

1 p.m. Dec. 17 — Free computer class: Tom Robison will answer general questions about the ownership and use of personal computers and explain how to make your computer use more enjoyable and understandable. He will discuss how to purchase new electronics. He will discuss computers, chromebooks and tablets. He’ll discuss what components are most important, what you need and don’t need and why brand names are unimportant. Take your own computer questions. If you have a laptop this would be a good class to charge it up and take it along. No signup is needed; email corporal99@msn.com with questions to have them addressed during class time.

6 p.m. Wednesdays — Knitting and Crochet Group: Whether you have been knitting for decades or just days, join this welcoming group.

6 p.m. Dec. 5 — Digestive Health: Victoria from Little Rock Natural Remedies will explain how to maintain your digestive health the natural way.

10:30 a.m. Mondays — Toddler Time Story Hour: Join Miss Cortney every Monday for stories, games, dancing and fun.

6 p.m. Mondays — Troop 43009 Girl Scouts: Girl Scouts of Western PA Hosts: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and Cadets meet on the lower level of the library.

5:30 p.m. Thursdays — Rockin at the Library: Drop-in for rock painting. This is not a structured class but a drop-in do-it-yourself program. There will be a guest rock painter from time to time. The library will supply the paint, brushes and rocks.

Noon to 6 p.m. Dec. 10 — Ask a Career Planner: A career planner from PA Career Link will answer job search questions. Find out about online job searches, interview tips, resume help and more. To reserve a time slot, call the library at 224-2994 and leave a message.
