MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – Summertime means cookouts and potlucks, but it doesn’t have to mean your diet goes out the window.

Savannah McGrath, registered dietitian with UPHS- Marquette, says staples of a heart healthy diet are low-fat meats like chicken and turkey, vegetables, and fruits. McGrath also says getting whole grains in your diet is essential, and they can be easily added into a salad.
